Change is taking place all over the world either for good or bad. New governments have been established promising hope for a new tomorrow, yet some nations of the world are bleeding from bad governance. Added to these COVID 19 is choosing to stay in the new variants of the disease. Natural disasters, floods, volcano eruptions to earthquakes are adding to the misery of people. On the local front, the Christian church has been deeply moved to pray for the nation with the hope that there would be changes for a clean government, especially in the light of growing corruption, religious and ethnic intolerance. What does it hold for our nation? Is there hope for her?
Two thousand years ago God broke into the history of the human world promising to bring changes for the betterment of humankind. He took the initiative because his love compelled him to do so. God saw this act in history as the only lasting hope where people are suffering. Today in the midst of our brokenness and pain we remember this dawn in the history of humankind and allow that same God to intervene in our personal and corporate history. We do that because it is our only lasting hope. Great philosophies and ideologies while promising us the world but were actually failing and in many cases also the root cause for our pain. So at Christmas, our prayer is God in your Son Jesus who has come into our world establish your peace. Journey with us and order our lives that they may be whole as you so promised.
A Blessed Christmas and New Year 2022
