Congratulations to the AGT board and faculty for the courage and boldness for thinking outside the box and responding to the needs of missionaries, pastors and trainers in the field. The outcome of this is the AGT MA in Intercultural Studies. It opened the doors for the participants who could not leave their respective areas for a length of time to be in a seminary setting to pursue their dreams. \u201cThe seminary came to us, in the words of a participant.  It brought together participants and lecturers from different regions and countries to equip and challenge us in the field, to rethink our mission motives and strategies. It gave those of us who have been so absorbed in work and ministry over the years the much-needed time for reflection and to deepen our commitment to the extension of the Kingdom of God.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The course provided the flexibility of enrolling in the program at any time the participant was ready to come in. All that the participant had to do was to complete the required modules over a period of time. The different teaching approaches and class interaction gave the participants a rich and creative way of teaching and learning which could also be replicated in their own situations. We thank all our lecturers for their dedication and commitment and ingenuityto the program.  For many of us it was the first time getting used to online classes and I guess it has been a new experience also for all our professors. Yet, I must admit that we were able to establish a special relationship with our lectures and fellow students as we journeyed through the whole course.  We look forward to meeting one another in person someday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I am pleased to observe that the modules covered in the program were well thought of. It gave participants a holistic approach to the course, helping us to understand the essence of the mission of God so that the local church could engage actively and meaningfully in its everyday life and ministry. An area that stood out and touched many of our lives was the module on the ministry to the marginalized.  This brought to the fore the words of Jesus that we will have the poor always with us. This led us to think further of the implications and responses of our churches to this ministry. We had to deal with ethical, pastoral and cultural issues in wanting to make a useful response in our generation to God\u2019s mission in the world.  The course also opened many of our eyes to the spirit realm that we encounter as individual Christians and pastors in ministry.  It reinforced to us that our battle is not with flesh and blood but with the principalities and powers in the heavenlies. We had to struggle with issues of right choices and decisions as we ventured to evangelized, disciple and plant new churches. For many of the participants, we have not thought deep enough of the ethical issues that are to be addressed. The experiences of the class from different parts of the Asia gave us new insights. We are thankful to the guidance of our lecturers, who always drew us back to the Bible for there is always a principle for whatever we do in the Word of God.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It must be admitted that it was a challenge and struggle for many of us to be disciplined in our study, writing and completing of the assignments. Our lecturers adhered to the academic standards and desired the best from each one of us. For this we greatly appreciate their patience, endurance,understanding and encouragement. It turned studying into a joy and finding the enjoyment and fulfilment as we went through the program. This program has brought new insights, understanding and given us the handles to deal with issues in our ministries in the days to come. We pray we will make decisions that will bring glory to God.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

My personal gratitude to all our lecturers and professors especially to our Executive Director and the Deans. A big thank you to my fellow participants who in some ways have reshaped my thinking and heart with your life stories.  I want to encourage those like me, to enroll in this program, where ever you are so that your passion for Mission may not dim.  May I assure you that you will see a difference in the way you engage in mission. The AGT \u201cMaster of Arts in Intercultural Studies\u201d<\/em> is a creative and effective program for anyone who wants to be used by God in Mission.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
